This is the senior finance hire for Monmouth Cards. Reporting to the CEO, you'll own the entire accounting and finance function across 10+ stores in NJ, CT, and MA, e-commerce, live selling, marketplaces, and vending.
This is the senior finance hire for Monmouth Cards. Reporting to the CEO, you'll own the entire accounting and finance function across 10+ stores in NJ, CT, and MA, e-commerce, live selling, marketplaces, and vending.
You'll Own
- Month-end close and multi-entity reporting
- Inventory accounting and valuation
- Multi-channel revenue reconciliation (POS, Shopify, live selling, marketplaces, vending)
- Gross margin analysis by store/channel/category
- Cash management, AP, AR, payroll
- Multi-state sales tax
- Budgeting/forecasting/FP&A
- Leading the NetSuite rollout and Shopify POS integration
- Investor and strategic support
Qualifications
- 5–8 years in accounting/finance including Controller/Assistant Controller experience
- Inventory-heavy retail/e-commerce experience
- Multi-entity accounting
- NetSuite (or comparable ERP) + advanced Excel
- Multi-state sales tax familiarity
- CPA preferred, not required

$120,000–$150,000/year + performance bonus

A hands-on Controller role with a clear mandate: own the NetSuite implementation and transition off QuickBooks, then run a clean, timely close on it. Reports to the COO/CFO, works directly with the CEO. A build role, not a maintenance role.

What You'll Do
- Lead the QuickBooks-to-NetSuite migration end to end (chart of accounts, data conversion, POS/e-commerce integrations, inventory setup, cutover)
- After go-live: own monthly close, store-level P&Ls, inventory accounting, cash/AP/AR/banking, internal controls, diligence support
Required
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience including Controller/Assistant Controller
- Deep hands-on NetSuite implementation experience
- Multi-entity/multi-location accounting
- Strong inventory accounting background
Preferred
- CPA
- Specialty retail/e-commerce experience
- Shopify familiarity
Not Required
Trading card knowledge — "we will teach you the category."
